The agony of loving her didn’t end with her death. Carolina Cárdenas (1903-1936) was the most beautiful, mysterious and talented woman in Bogotá in the 1930s; a pioneer of photography and ceramics in Colombia, as well as a painter and sketcher. Her short life was passionate and subject of scandals and gossip in Bogotá´s high society of the time. Her name is central in Colombia´s art history, and yet many seem to have forgotten her. Juan Fernando, a journalist from Ambalema, Tolima, who fell in love with her and with the promises of liberty and modernity she represented, is the narrator of this story.
